The house is on the headland, so you have 270 degree views from the boat marina to Petone and Lower Hutt, across the harbour to Soames/Matiu Island and Wellington City, out to the Wellington Harbour entrance and on to Days Bay and Eastbourne.
The sea is always changing, there are walks in the hills and along the beach and it is only 25 minutes by road (subject to traffic) to the Cook Strait Ferry to the South Island and 45 minutes to the Wellington Airport.
There is a bus stop at the beach, with a regular bus service to Wellington City, the restaurants and cafes in Petone, the Queensgate Mall or to Days Bay and Eastbourne - or you can take the East-West Ferry from Days Bay to Wellington City Centre.
There are so many trendy cafes and resturants in Eastbourne and Petone, each with a different anbience, and even more in Wellington!
Wellington has many other attractions; including Te Papa, a very different museum, the Cable Car, the Carillion, including The Great War exibition, Parliament and the Bee Hive, Peter Jackson's film studios (where "Lord of the Rings" was produced), plus Weta Cave - the movie special effects centre.
